Day 2 NYFW - Essence Streetstyle Block Party

Sorry I'm behind but our day two at NYFW was a lot of fun. Me and one of my best friends, Lindsay, spent the day in Brooklyn at the Essence Street Style Block Party. It was their 3rd annual block party and when I tell you it was lit, it was LIT! I love seeing so many colored beauties showcasing their natural hair and their vibrant styles. It was like a fashion show just really hot and humid. Everyone had on their best street attire while posing all day for the many photographers. From solid prints to African prints the Ankara fabric pieces were in full effect. Essence put on a fashion show and let the crowd show off their beautiful outfits. Along with the wonderful fashions, there were vendors from hair companies like Shea Moisture, Madame CJ Walker, SheaGirl, and more. Local vendors lined up selling their finest jewelry and clothing, it was a fun filled day. Oh and I can't forget the many food trucks. Just think of your typical block party but on steroids.

Now about this cute little outfit. So recently Forever 21 has became a constant store for me. I stopped shopping there for a while because I felt like too many people had on the same thing but I like to hunt for the good stuff and make it my own. I found this two piece skirt set from Forever 21 and I thought it was the cutest outfit. The puff shoulders and the wrap around drawstring gave me Latina vibes. I got the choker from Forever 21 as well and my boots are from Zara. I'm going to be sad when they fall apart because I love these boots so much. My beautiful friend Lindsay has on an American Apparel shirt with a Forever 21 skirt. Her shoes were from a local store in Houston and her necklace is from my closet lol.

Throughout the event I saw some of my favorite bloggers and celebrities. @ownbyfemme, @heygorjess, @simplycyn @tarenguy were there along with Zendaya, Kelly Rowland, Naturi and Angela & Vanessa Simmons. It was a good day to be in Brooklyn!

@heygorjess had the cutest outfit! I loved her casual look with this fun metallic skirt.

@simplycyn never ceases to amaze me. She always does solid colors with a little pop of color or vice versa and it's so good! This outfit screamed comfy yet chic.
