Travel To London With Me
/Hey Hey!
I just left the best trip ever in a long time and based on the title, I just came back from London. What made this trip so amazing? Last year I went to Mexico like 4 times, it was actually crazy. I think I’ve had enough of the beach life and I wanted to travel somewhere with architecture and gloomy weather (says no one ever). Also, I really wanted to visit one of my friend’s who lives in London, so it was a win win. Now let me tell you why you should go to London in October.
October is supposed to be a bad time to visit London because the weather report says it’s going to rain everyday. Well I was there 5 days and it rain about 2ish days. Not like Florida type rain, but like a nice drizzle that actually feels good. Basically, It didn’t rain too hard. I was able to walk around the times it did rain and my clothes weren’t soaked at all! That kind of rain I can get with. The even better part was the price of the flight. Since it’s not the “best time” to visit London, the flights were sooooo cheap. My flight was literally half of what it normally cost to fly to London. I looked on Google.com/flights and found the cheapest time to go during October and booked the flight through Norwegian airlines. If you’re looking to go to London soon, definitely check out Norwegian airlines for a reasonable flight price.
Where To Eat:
My friend that I went to visit is kinda vegan lol, so I have options for meat eaters and vegans. First place we went to was so delicious. It was a Caribbean restaurant in the financial district called Mama’s Kitchen. It’s in an area that has several places to eat, but Mama’s Chicken was superb. I had the jerk chicken and it was mouth watering! I devoured my plate as soon as I got it. There’s also a smoothie/milkshake place in the same shopping center called the Vurger Co. Super delicious as well. Their salted caramel popcorn milkshake was to die for and they used vegan milk, so it’s vegan friendly!
If you’re looking for a nice romantic date place, definitely check out Quaglino’s. It was amazing! The food was delicious, the drinks were superb and the pumpkin pie dessert was phenomenal. I absolutely loved the ambiance. It had a low light, candle lit vibe and if you stay until 9pm they have live music. The live music was so good, that my friend and I literally stayed at that restaurant for 5 hours. haha. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner in London.
If you find your way to Shoreditch, which is more like a hipster vibe, they have a restaurant called Genesis that was also really good. It’s kind of like a diner style restaurant, but it was all vegan and very Instagrammable inside.
When you are headed to Oxford Circus to shop, you have to stop by Ethos restaurant for a nice buffet style, organic eats. This restaurant was also really nice inside and the vibe was very chill. My last recommendation would be Ethiopian food from Queen of Sheba. Ethiopian food speaks for itself. All of these restaurants listed are AMAZING so definitely check them out on your next visit!
Where To Shop:
If you don’t know, Oxford Circus is where it’s at. They have every store you can think of. Topshop, Mango, Primark, Aldo, Gap, River Island, Zara, the list goes on! I only stopped at 2 stores, because it is very very overwhelming in a good way. I found some amazing pieces and it definitely cost way less than it would in the US. So I recommend packing an extra luggage and doing some serious shopping in London.
If you’re looking for more high end shopping, then Harrod’s is where its at. Harrod’s is the Rodeo Drive of London, but better if you ask me. They have every designer you can think of and all of the luxury skincare and makeup brands as well. I didn’t buy anything, but the experience was nice. They also had the sweetest doorman dressed in these fly green suits. I couldn’t resist taking a picture with one of them!
Things to do:
I spent a lot of time with my friend just exploring London and trying to feel like a local and not a tourist. However, they do have some lovely museums and fun site-seeing things to do. This was my second time visiting London, but my first time I took pictures with the Guards at Buckingham Palace, went to see Big Ben, rode the Eye of London and even did a night time boat cruise with Cruise London. All fun things you must do while n London. This time I got on the Emirates airline which takes you across the River Thames in London. I would recommend going around sunset time to make the view even more special. Every where in London is photograph worthy if you ask me, so make sure you have your best fits on and enjoy the beautiful architect in London Town.
Below are some photos with my beautiful friend (@NiaTheLight). She takes an old school film camera everywhere and captures photos like the good ole days. She even has scrapbooks with all her photos! So nostalgic. All of these photos are taken around London on film!
I will have a separate blog with links to everything I wore while I was there. I brought my best looks haha, so stay tuned!
