My Skincare Journey!
/It’s Skincare Sunday, and today I’m sharing with you guys my skincare journey! Recently, someone asked me “have your skin ever been bad?” and it made me think. I have not had any traumatic skin stories, but no one has had “perfect” skin their entire life. So, of course there were a few times when I had skin issues, and I want to share with you what I believe were the cause of these issues.
When I was in high school, I used to drink a lot of carbonated sodas. Along with drinking sodas, I ate a lot of candy and sweets. I still have a crazy sweet tooth! However, as a result, I began to develop spots of discoloration on my face. I was in the adolescent phase at the time, so you know that I was freaking out about my skin. Just the idea that my face was changing colors terrified me. I literally sat back and asked myself, “what am I consuming too much of?” I knew that my body reacts to what I put in it. At the time, I was feeding my face with anything sweet which was so bad for me. I soon decided that I was going to stop drinking sodas and that made such a difference in my skin. My skin started clearing up quickly! After that I became so into drinking water, and I didn’t want to drink anything else. 10+ years later I am still drinking water with every meal and making sure that I get a decent water intake daily.
Another major skincare moment for me was when I first moved to Los Angeles. It was only a few months into me living in a new place, and I was already struggling adjusting to the city. I had just moved to a big city without knowing anyone except maybe two people. You can understand, that I was nervous, scared, and insecure about just about everything! One day I woke up and I had about 10 pimples on my forehead. They were HUGE! I didn’t understand what was going on, for my skin had been doing so well and I had not had any major problems in years. So, again, I was freaking out! I had to do some research on this one. I researched and the only thing I found that made sense was the water change. Water is different in every city. My skin was reacting to the water change from Beaumont, Texas to Los Angeles, California. There was nothing for me to do at this point except take my skincare regimens more seriously. I had become so lazy with my skincare regimen because my skin was always naturally clear; but after that skin scare, I started paying more attention to my skin.
Now, fast forward to today, and that’s why I am so passionate about skincare! I love seeing flawless, glowing skin and I want everyone’s skin to be poppin’! Therefore, when I share something with you guys, it is 100% genuine and I have tried it out before sharing it.
Please let me know guys if you have had any crazy skincare stories as well, I would love to read them!
